As a professional travel advisor, I do charge a service fee for the travel services I offer, including pricing and destination information.  

 

Why? 

 

The travel industry has changed and both travel advisors and customers need to change as well.  Most travel plans, even basic hotel and air, take time to research and finalize. Research and pricing take time, especially for the traveler who is uncertain of their destination, budget, or needs. This is especially relevant for clients who wish me to research and price multiple destinations or who customized itineraries that require additional time, research, and customization.  I focus on building a relationship with clients to determine their exact wants, needs, hopes, and dreams to create a custom travel experience. By charging a fee, I am able to give them my full attention, destination knowledge and expertise, commitment to excellence, and attention to detail.  

 

With over 27+ years as a corporate, leisure, and group agent, I bring comprehensive knowledge and experience to every travel experience, offering tailor-made services that focus on my clients individual interests and needs.  My professional affiliation with Plaza Travel and Signature Travel Network allow my clients additional amenities above and beyond what they would receive by booking reservations on their own or through an online travel booking service, often for the same price or less than they would pay direct.  

 

In short, I am worth it and my customers would agree.  

 

While my goal is to always offer my clients the best trip for their budget, I am not a budget agency and do not compete with the “big box warehouse stores” or online booking engines.   Most airlines no longer pay commission to travel agents and some hotels/tours no longer pay commission, and for the suppliers who do pay, I do not usually get paid until 60-90 days after a client returns from their trip.  I recently assisted a client with a customized South African itinerary and 95% of the trip did not pay commission to me.  Charging a service fee allows me to create an incredible trip for my clients while still getting compensated for my services.  As other professionals, I expect to be paid for the work I do and appreciate those who value my time and expertise so prefer to concentrate on the clients who are serious about their travel plans and willing to make an investment in a quality trip.

  • Standard Hotel/Auto Reservations - $15 within hotel/auto cancellation policy
  • International Airline Ticket Cancellation/Change (Per Person) $25
  • Cruise/Tour Package Cancellation Fee - $25
  • Customized Itinerary Cancellation/Change (Per Person) -$50
  • Group Package Cancellation/Change Fee - $50-100
